Testing built around your product, not a generic checklist
Product testing covers the mechanical and performance testing manufacturers, importers and suppliers need to prove a product is fit for its market — whether that's a portable fuel container, a bulk bag, a pallet, a lithium battery or a container built to your own specification. Each product type has its own standard and its own failure modes, so we scope testing to the product in front of us rather than a one-size-fits-all program.

What we test
Jump to a category below, or get in touch if your product doesn't fit a standard category.
AS/NZS 2906 Fuel Container Testing
Portable fuel containers up to 25 L — plastic or metal jerry cans for petrol, two-stroke fuel and kerosene — tested for material, design and marking compliance. Where a container will also carry dangerous goods, we combine this with UN performance testing so one container can carry both markings.
AS 3668 FIBC Testing
AS 3668 covers flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs) used for non-dangerous goods — a different scope to the UN-rated FIBCs covered on our dangerous goods packaging page. If your bulk bag will only ever carry non-dangerous product, this is the standard that applies.
Pallet & Stillage Testing
Pallets and stillages are tested under real handling and storage conditions to AS 4068 and ISO 8611, so you know they'll perform in the racking system and on the dock, not just on paper.

Different products, one independent standard of proof.
UN 38.3 Lithium Battery Testing
UN 38.3 sets out the safety tests lithium metal and lithium-ion cells and batteries must pass before they can be transported. This tests the battery itself — a different scope to the packaging-performance testing we carry out on the boxes and containers batteries travel in, covered on our dangerous goods packaging page.
Aerosol Flammability & Design Testing
We conduct UN flammability testing for aerosols — the ignition distance and enclosed space ignition tests — alongside AS 2278 design type testing and assessment of the can, valve and actuation, all at our laboratory.

Frequently asked questions
Do you test products other than dangerous goods packaging?
Yes — product testing covers a wide range of items including fuel containers, non-dangerous goods FIBCs, sharps containers, pallets, lithium batteries and aerosol cans, alongside our dangerous goods packaging testing.
What's the difference between UN FIBC testing and AS 3668 FIBC testing?
UN FIBC testing qualifies a bulk bag to carry dangerous goods under the UN Recommendations and ADG Code. AS 3668 applies to FIBCs carrying non-dangerous goods. Which standard applies depends on what the bag will carry, not the bag itself.
Is UN 38.3 battery testing the same as lithium battery packaging testing?
No. UN 38.3 tests the battery or cell itself. Lithium battery packaging testing — covered on our dangerous goods packaging page — tests the outer packaging the battery travels in. Many battery shipments need both.
Can you test a custom or prototype product that doesn't fit a standard category?
Yes — get in touch with details of your product and what you need to prove, and we'll scope a test program to suit.
